Next week I am making an announcement about our new titles, three new titles out hopefully before the end of the year (one of them has just gone to print as I write) and also outlining our publication schedule for several books that we all have been waiting for and yes George’s London Volume 2 is being worked on, I’ll explain why that was delayed. I will also touch on the challenges for publishers amidst the cost-of-living crisis.
NIGHT SKY – SLIGHT SECONDS
Alyn Wallace’s Photographing The Night Sky was a departure from our usual photo-location guidebooks, and in the last 12-months we have nearly sold out. It has been an overwhelming success and has received rave reviews. We did have some copies that had the odd black mark on some pages and scuffed covers, I picked these up from the warehouse recently, around 200 copies. These ‘seconds’ are now for sale at £36.95 and you buy a copy here
***** A brilliant book with everything there is to know about photographing the night sky , I am a complete novice in this genre as I photograph wildlife predominately but I am learning so much and can’t put the book down.
***** To describe it In a single word OUTSTANDING. Clear to understand, tons of examples. I’m relatively new to landscape and astrophotography and probably as many others I’ve purchased a few books but this one bits them all multiple times. THANK YOU VERY VERY MUCH.
***** Alyn Wallace’s book Photographing The Night Sky is comprehensive and authoritative. His writing style makes even the most sophisticated subject matter understandable. The illustrations and photographs perfectly complement the text. It’s the first 575 page book I couldn’t put down. Also, the book is destined to serve as a valuable reference book for a long time.
50 ICELAND HARD BACKS AVAILABLE
Whilst at the warehouse we also discovered that we had some (overun) hard back copies of James Rushforth’s Photographing Iceland Volumes 1 and 2, and these are for sale along with the Iceland map for £80 for both volumes and the map.
They would make the perfect gift. You can buy them here
These were limited edition, and we won’t be doing hardback copies of this title again. James’ two-volume and map opus has won four prestigious publishing awards during 2022 – Travel winner at the Best Indie Book Awards, Guidebook of the Year at both the British Guild of Travel Writers and Outdoor Writers and Photographers Guild annual awards, and Travel Guidebook of the Year at the Foreword INDIES awards. It is the most comprehensive and beautiful guidebook to Iceland with over 100 five star reviews.
I best get back to work on our next two titles and all will be revealed next week on here and via our newsletter.
